AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOR THE OPERATIONS AND PROGRAMS OF SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS STATEWIDE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three million dollars ($3,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for the New Mexico department of agriculture for expenditure in fiscal year 2026 for soil and water conservation districts statewide to carry out their statutory responsibilities for operations and programs pursuant to Sections 73-20-25 through 73-20-48 NMSA 1978. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2026 shall revert to the general fund.
