AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THE NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE TO WORK WITH THE SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION COMMISSION IN COOPERATION WITH THE CULTURAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT TO DEVELOP AN ARCHAEOLOGY FIELD SCHOOL EDUCATION PROGRAM STATEWIDE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2026 for the New Mexico department of agriculture to work with the soil and water conservation commission in cooperation with the cultural affairs department to develop an archaeology field school education program statewide. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2026 shall revert to the general fund.
