AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE STATE AUDITOR FOR A CLASS AND COMPENSATION STUDY OF THE GOVERNMENTAL ACCOUNTING SECTOR.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the state auditor for expenditure in fiscal years 2026 through 2028 to provide funding for a class and compensation study distinct to the agency's governmental audit and accounting procedures. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2028 shall revert to the general fund.
