AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE NAVAJO-GALLUP WATER SUPPLY PROJECT REGIONAL WATER LINE BEACON-BISTI-N9, CUTTER LATERAL 371/INTERSTATE 40 PROJECT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Ten million dollars ($10,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of environment for expenditure in fiscal years 2026 through 2028 to plan, design and construct the Navajo-Gallup water supply project regional water line Beacon-Bisti-N9, Cutter Lateral 371/interstate 40 project that will provide a water supply critical to the community. Beacon-Bisti-N9 is a multi-phased regional project that will serve the following twelve Navajo chapters: Coyote Canyon, Tse'ii'ahi', Nahodishgish, Crownpoint, Becenti, Lake Valley, White Rock, Little Water, Casamero Lake, Smith Lake, Baca/Prewitt and Thoreau. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2028 shall revert to the general fund.
