AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO RECOGNIZE THE FOUR HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY OF WINEMAKING IN AMERICA.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three million dollars ($3,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal years 2026 through 2028 for the New Mexico department of agriculture to develop projects, programs, promotions and educational and civic events to recognize the history, current value and future economic potential of the winegrowing industry in New Mexico in conjunction with the four hundredth anniversary of winemaking in America, acknowledge the contributions made by indigenous and immigrant communities and emphasize the importance of conserving land and water resources. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2028 shall revert to the general fund.
