AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO FOR THE SITE PREPARATION, CONSTRUCTION, EQUIPPING, FURNISHING AND LANDSCAPING OF AN OBSERVATORY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO-TAOS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal years 2026 through 2029 for the site preparation, construction, equipping, furnishing and landscaping of an observatory, the Cielo Centro observatory, at the university of New Mexico-Taos. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2029 shall revert to the general fund.
