AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR STATEWIDE OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME PROGRAMMING FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty million dollars ($20,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2026 and subsequent fiscal years for the purposes of providing and expanding comprehensive and affordable statewide out-of-school time programming for public school students. From the amount appropriated, ten million dollars ($10,000,000) is for school districts and ten million dollars ($10,000,000) is for local and statewide nonprofit community organizations. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
