AN ACT

RELATING TO GOVERNMENT; PROHIBITING THE ADOPTION OF ANY LAW, ORDINANCE, RULE OR REGULATION THAT PROHIBITS OR RESTRICTS THE USE OF PERSONNEL OR RESOURCES TO ASSIST IN THE ENFORCEMENT OF FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAW OR THAT INTERFERES WITH THE ENFORCEMENT OF FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. [NEW MATERIAL] PROHIBITING INTERFERENCE WITH THE ENFORCEMENT OF FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAW.--The state or any political subdivision of the state shall not adopt or continue in effect any law, ordinance, rule or regulation that would prohibit or restrict the use of personnel or resources to assist in the enforcement of federal immigration law or interfere with the enforcement of federal immigration law.
